The Iowa City Police Department has arrested 47-year-old Robert Lee Bryant (pictured above) in connection to an April 15 incident at a home in the Grant Wood neighborhood. A woman, who lived alone in a home, said a man broke into her house while she was sleeping and began to sexually assault her. She suffered injuries in the attack.

According to a press release from the Iowa City Police Department, DNA analysis led police to Bryant along with a distinct piece of clothing that was found at the woman's home. Police say lab tests of DNA found at the scene were an exact match to Bryant.

Friday morning, police arrested Bryant and charged him with First Degree Burglary and Third Degree Sexual Abuse. The Burglary charge is a Class B Felony and the Sexual Abuse charge is a Class C felony, according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. No bond has been set.
