The owners of the Iowa-owned horse have pledged to give the prize money to an Iowa community college.

Brody's Cause from Albaugh Family Stables in Des Moines is owned by Ankeny billionaire, Dennis Albaugh and his wife, Susan. Albaugh is a 1972 graduate of Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). According to WHO-TV, Albaugh says if his horse brings home the roses Saturday afternoon, the half-million dollar prize money will all go to the college. It could happen.

Brody's Cause is considered one of the favorites in this weekend's Kentucky Derby. Among the 17-horse field, his odds of winning are 12-to-1, fifth-best in the field. NESN shows the current favorite is Nyquist at 10-to-3 odds, followed by Exaggerator and Mohaymen at 8-to-1, and Gun Runner at 10-to-1.

An Iowa horse in the field will definitely make Saturday's Kentucky Derby even more exciting than usual. What time do you need to tune-in for it? Derby Experiences reports post time is 5:34 (Iowa time) Saturday afternoon. You can watch the race on Channel 7.
