There is growing speculation that Iowa governor Terry Branstad could be the next U.S. Ambassador to China. It could all become official this week as Branstad is set to meet with President-elect Donald Trump in New York.

Branstad confirmed that he'll meet with Trump while in New York for an economic development trip. Trump has praised Branstad's trade knowledge and said that he would be the perfect person to take care of China.

Branstad told reporters Monday that he has not yet been offered a position, but had talked with his family about the possibility of moving to China.
