It's always rough to hear about people losing their jobs, but especially at the holidays.Thankfully, it's good news for Iowans this year!

According to November's unemployment numbers, Iowa has lowest unemployment rate in the country. Currently at 2.4 percent, only Hawaii is tied for the top spot. The really good news is that nearly 2,000 people entered the workforce; that means that right now, Iowa has 1.64 million people employed, the most in state history, according to KWQC.

Heading into the new year, that seems to be a promising sign (though I'm no expert). This information also comes on top of the fact that the Quad Cities are some of the most affordable places to live in the nation.

There's more businesses on the way in the new year too. East Moline has opened their first hotel, and is bringing a new concert venue to the area. Hopefully we'll see even more growth after the holiday.
