The Iowa National Guard was crucial in providing security and more to the two cities last week, but they're the ones saying thank you.

Major General Timothy Orr, the Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard, took time to thank the people of Cedar Rapids and Palo for what he describes as, "... the gracious and untiring support you provided to our soldiers while they performed flood duties in your communities in late September. Your communities demonstrated to the rest of the world that Iowans take care of each other and pride themselves in working together in the spirit of one." He goes on to salute first responders and community leaders. You can see his full statement below.

While the Major General is thanking us, it's another perfect time for US to say THANK YOU to them. As an employee of one of the few businesses allowed to continue working and be in the evacuation area throughout the flood event, it was a great comfort knowing the Iowa National Guard was here to help and protect us... just like they always are.
