Just be glad you don't live in Utah!

The website QuoteWizard recently took a look at all sorts of factors like accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, citations, and fatalities to determine which states are the best and the worst for drivers. The good news is, Iowa ranked in the top half of the list. The bad news? We still didn't rank very high. Iowa came in at number 29 (with one being the worst and 50 being the best). Here are the top five best states for drivers:

  1. Rhode Island
  2. Florida
  3. Mississippi
  4. Michigan
  5. Nevada

On the other hand, here are the top five worst states for drivers:

  1. Utah
  2. California
  3. Virginia
  4. Maine
  5. Nebraska

I was surprised to see my home state of Michigan rank so high on the list, especially because they have some of the highest car insurance rates in the nation. I thought for sure that Iowa would beat them out, but I guess I was wrong!
