What a season it's been for the Iowa women's basketball team. A 26-7 record, a #15 national ranking, and tonight a date in the NCAA's Sweet 16. Win or lose tonight, Iowa's seniors will leave a lasting impact on the program.

Samanta Logic will do anything to win, including losing part of a tooth in last weekend's Round Two victory over Miami (below). The girl's a player, and a fighter. Loose ball? I'll take Logic over the other nine players on the floor every time. Sam, as she's often called, is the current active leader for assists in the entire nation with nearly 900. She's also the first player in collegiate history to score at least 1500 career points, collect at least 800 rebounds, 800 assists, and 200 steals. Now THAT is a player.

Bethany Doolittle started her career rather quietly with scoring averages of 3.7 and 7.2 per game her first two seasons. Last year, she turned into a star averaging 14.2 points per game. This year, she's right there again at 14.1. What really stands out from last season is the fact she's grabbed more than 60 additional rebounds in 2014-15.

THREE! That says it all for Melissa Dixon... the nation's leader in 3-pointers per game at 3.70. I was at Carver-Hawkeye for last Sunday's win over Miami and I don't believe I've ever heard a crowd erupt more than when she hit her first three of the day. She's on the cusp of history:

Here's what the number of made three-pointers during Dixon's career looks like... freshman: 35; sophomore: 78; junior: 97; senior: 122. She's been practicing her craft, as they all have, for a very long time:

Kathryn Reynolds is a name that isn't quite as well known to Hawkeye fans, but it might've been. She suffered a torn ACL following her freshman season and missed all of her sophomore season. She's been there every step of the way with a group of seniors that has won more games than any Iowa women's graduating class in 21 years. 93 total victories, so far.

Yes, no matter what happens tonight in the 6:30 tip-off (ESPN2) against fifth-ranked and second-seed Baylor, it's been quite a ride for these ladies and those of us lucky enough to watch them. Let's hope it doesn't end tonight...
