A couple weeks ago, I looked at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand line-up and was a bit frustrated to find a lack of pop shows.  However, there was the belief that more shows would still be named, and I was hopeful we'd see more than just country and older bands.  Let's call this a wish granted.  I was very excited to see the finalized line-up recently released by the Iowa State Fair.  One of the biggest pop up and comers, Meghan Trainor, has been added to the list. Her opener has yet to be named, and we're kind of excited to see who it'll be.  Also, The Fray will be in Des Moines, although we're almost more excited about opener Andy Grammer.

And while we're VERY excited about both of those, we're also excited about what will be their biggest show, Carrie Underwood.  Now I know, it's yet another country show, but it's Carrie Underwood.  Very nice!

So get your money saved up, and book the hotel room, as the Fray and Meghan Trainor shows are back to back nights (Aug. 21st and 22nd)  At least it's the weekend.  And a weekend at the fair?  That's not too bad of a way to spend the summer.
