Nearly $1 million in damage was done to a man's Iowa home during a weekend fire. Now, his 18-year-old son has been charged with arson.

The fire, at 3619 S.W. Timberline Drive in Ankeny was reported to fire and police officials Saturday evening. When they arrived on the scene, the house was fully involved in fire.

According to the Des Moines Register, during the investigation of the fire, it was determined a vehicle, a truck, was missing. WHO reports police found the truck the next day in Fort Dodge, along with 18-year-old Paul Knapp, the son of the home's owner, Thomas Knapp.

Paul Knapp faces charges of burglary and second-degree arson, a felony. He also has been charged with criminal mischief, and two counts of theft. The charges include illegal use of credit cards that belonged to his father.

KCCI reports the home was assessed at just over a half-million dollars last year.
