According to the Iowa Beef Industry Council's Director of Marketing, Brooke German,

The Brazilian-inspired restaurant serves a hand-pattied burger, and the judges noted that the taste and quality of the burger is outstanding and worth a drive to have it again.

The restaurant is owned by Claudio Gianello, a Brazil native, and his wife Kellie. It's nearing three decades in business and its award-winning burger isn't flashy. It's a hand-made patty of Certified Angus Beef, with oregano, salt, and pepper, all served on a toasted bun. A simple, but winning combination.

The winner was chosen by anonymous judges who visited each of the ten restaurants who made the finals. Those included Saucy Focaccia and BurgerFiend in Cedar Rapids. Unfortunately, they didn't bring home the crown this year. However, if you're not up for a drive to Ames, you'll find awesome-tasting burgers in both places.
