This just in, the FCC is reporting that payphones in 2015 made $286 million. Wait, what? How is this even possible? Doesn't every person AND their dog own a cell phone? Who, I repeat WHO is using a payphone?! Apparently, it's still a big business. $286 million is a bunch of cash, I'm thinking about jumping in the game!

The last time I checked, there isn't one payphone in Cedar Rapids. If I'm wrong, please let me know. My phone broke a year ago and I needed to make a call. I went to five gas stations and couldn't find a single payphone! I ended up asking a total stranger if I could borrow their phone. They said no, and I spent the entire day without making a call or sending a text message. It was actually a pretty nice break.

This seems like it would be a pretty easy business to start. Think about it: There's no competition and it's obvious this town NEEDS MORE PAYPHONES! I'll just purchase an old payphone from eBay, secure a location, and start making money one quarter at a time! I'll have zero overhead, no employees, and it's an ALL cash business!

Even though I won't need it, wish me luck. If things go well, I'll be able to retire by the time I'm 65 years old. Check out the video below and watch these kids find an ancient artifact....a payphone!
