It's what they call "Music's Biggest Night".  The Grammys!  It's one of the only Award shows where they can go almost an hour without handing out an award, and that's okay, because in that time, there were so many "moments".  And while last night's show is being dissected, lets take a "moment" to give credit for the true reason to have shows like this. Moments... of collaboration: Although I can't say I loved Tom Jones & Jessie J, seeing some of the legends on stage is what the night should be about: ELO tribute to Sir Paul (which he was enjoying), Gaga and Bennett, Ed Sheeran with John Mayer & Herbie Hancock, Sir Paul with RIhanna, and so many more. It's not about what's "pop", it's about MUSIC!

Moments... of SHOCK! Ummm, Madonna. Well, she's kinda known for it.  But what about Beck beating out Sam Smith and Beyonce. Who would've ever thought the guy who gave us "Loser" so many years ago would take this sure thing moment away from these other big stars.  The audience was clearly stunned too... as was social media with "Who is Beck" trending on twitter. (Heck, Kanye thought about taking another "Moment".) And Pharrell was stunned when he won, over the other four who he notably recognized as also very much deserving the award.  Where there wasn't much shock... the performances.

Moments... of epic performances. Although overall, it may have been a more low-key night, with more ballads than pop anthems, there were plenty of powerful performances.  Katy Perry, Beyonce, Pharrell with a variation on Happy, and the previous mentioned collaborations. Sure, overall the show was quite the sleeper, versus a high energy pop blast as so many expect.  But you can not deny, the Grammys once again delivered on what the Grammys always promise... Moments!
