We've been waiting to hear what would be next for Kelly Clarkson, as life has changed quite a bit for her the past couple years. With help from her 6mo old daughter River, we now know that answer.

It was October of 2013 that Kelly's last album came out, and it was her "Wrapped In Red" holiday disc.  While we thoroughly enjoy it, it has left us wondering when we'd get a standard album from Kelly, and what style of music it'd be.  The single she released in June 2013, "Tie It Up" was a country song, which she supported by saying her 7th studio album would be a country album.  As we know, she's been quite involved in country, from her friendship with Blake Shelton, to her successful duet with Jason Aldean ("Don't You Wanna Stay"), and her more recent collaboration with Martina McBride (the song "In the Basement" from Martina's 2014 "Everlasting" album). And about the time "Wrapped in Red" dropped, she married Reba McEntire's stepson.  So we had big assumptions the new disc would be a country disc.  Guess it again.

Maybe it was the wedding.  Maybe it was her pop/rock roots.  Maybe it was becoming a mommy last June.  Either way, it's an album she first tweeted about almost a year ago, that she was working on, and now we know "Piece By Piece" will be coming out in March, confirming her September announcement that it'd be early this year.  And the first single, "Heartbeat Song" is indeed a pop song.  No matter what the rest of the album is, we admit we love this track, and can't wait to hear more.
