With every year we hit a leap day, we always start to think about what life must be like for those whose birthday in on Leap Day, as it means they only get a birthday once every 4 years. Apparently 1 in 1,461 people are born on leap day, which is a lot more than we figured it would be.  But what are the odds that both of your children are born on leap day? 1 in 2.5 million, which we know, because it just happened, right here in Cedar Rapids.

We congratulate Leah and Jeff Birker on the birth of baby Owen, born February 29th. A leap birthday is an awkward thing to deal with, but at least, he has his sister by his side, as she was born Leap Day 4 years ago. Defying odds like this, they might want to grab a lottery ticket.
