It is estimated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that 41 million people, including 13 million children and 5 million senior citizens, are not able to put enough food on their table each year. That means one in eight people are going hungry. It's a troubling issue.

This is why, for the second year in a row, Subway restaurants across the globe, including here in Cedar Rapids, will be participating in a "Live Feed" for World Sandwich Day.

It's simple. On Friday, November 3rd, when you buy a sandwich at Subway along with a 30 oz. beverage, you will get a FREE sandwich, and Subway will donate a free meal to Feeding America, who, according to their website are the largest hunger-relief organization in the nation.

So, take a friend out to lunch at Subway on the 3rd. They will get a free sandwich with your meal purchase and you'll be doing your part to help those in need.
