Next Tuesday marks 17 years since the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in 2001. We will never forget the events, the lives lost...or the folks who stepped into harm's way to save as many more lives as possible.

In honor of the rescue personnel who work so hard to protect and save lives everyday, Edith Lucille's Bait Shack & Wing Depot in Cedar Rapids is giving them a special thank-you.

On Tuesday, all first responders (police, firefighters, paramedics) in the local area are invited to stop into Edith Lucille's between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a free meal.

Just present your badge (or come in uniform) and any meal will be provided free of charge.

Edith Lucille's is owned and operated by Eric & Lynn Frantz. They are located at 6913 Mt Vernon Rd. SE in Cedar Rapids. It's a small yet generous gesture to show appreciation to these brave men and women who have a thankless job. Eric & Lynn are good friends of ours and we appreciate their continued efforts to serve the community.

The restaurant is still open to the public that day and all are welcome to stop by and show your appreciation.
