One of Marion's largest employers is proposing a new development that could begin as early as this spring and would likely bring more than 50 new jobs to the area.

Timberline Manufacturing hopes to construct a new 85,000 square foot manufacturing facility that would double the company’s production space and capacity. The proposed project at 1029 Blair's Ferry Road is located next to the company’s current headquarters on Lyons Lane. Total cost of the project would be around $12.8 million.

“In our 25th year we need to invest, keep ourselves relevant, and continue adding value for our customers and employee-owners,” says Timberline President Greg Ervin. “This project will allow us the efficient space needed to stay competitive and keep expanding our local job offerings.”

“Timberline is yet another Marion company providing innovation to products and industries all around the world,” says Marion Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) President Nick Glew. “We’re thankful for the continued investment by one of Marion’s largest employers.”

Pending a March 23rd approval by the Iowa Economic Development Authority, construction could begin this spring. The expansion is expected to create 56 new jobs over the next three years. Timberline currently has 165 full-time employees in Marion.
