I'm absolutely fascinated by small town life. Being from New York, I was fascinated when friends shared their double digit graduating class size or claim everyone in their town knows each other.

However, I had no idea people could vote to have entire towns "dissolve" and that is exactly what is being set in motion for the 100 person town of Mount Union. The town is located just north of Burlington and despite the City Council's vote to dissolve it, it sounds as though some would rather keep Mount Union united. What lead to these events? According to KCRG -- sewers! Failed lawsuits against a company that runs the towns sewage system have forced the people of Mount Union to consider disincorporation unless enough residents sign a special petition.

We will have to wait and see, unless it vanishes before then.
