Watching TV the other day, suddenly a bit of nostalgia came on the screen.  An icon of the past has returned, but not quite in the way I remembered him. Colonel Sanders is back, but he's creepy. Apparently, I'm not the only one who feels this way.  In fact, it's seems the majority opinion agrees with me that this new portrayal is a bit, well, off. In fact, the owner of the KFC recipe from 1964-1971, doesn't believe the Colonel would appreciate the strange caricature. He even goes as far as saying the new ads make fun of the legendary real life Colonel. What's wilder, is the CEO of KFC's parent company admits 1 in 5 are not fans of the new mascot (which seems like a low number to me).

The new mascot is played by SNL alum Daryl Hammond, who does a great job on all sorts of impersonations and characters. But I just don't get this new role, or how some extremely strange, out of touch, old man with a creepy laugh is supposed to make me want to buy chicken.  How about you?

If you haven't seen the ads, take a look at the video's below and let me know your thoughts.
