You still see the sign in downtown Cedar Rapids, although the restaurant that called the building home has long since left.

Bistro On The River was a casual fine dining restaurant in the Hach Building in downtown Cedar Rapids, nestled right next door to Dublin City Pub. According to CBS2, it closed down last August. Owner Brittany Hannah told the Corridor Business Journal she had been looking for a new, more efficient location, having about 3,000 extra square feet than she needed in her downtown space.

Enter the closure of the Marion Maid-Rite in January after years of service. Hannah intended to take over that prime piece of real estate but unfortunately, lease issues prevented the deal from being closed. After a year of searching for a new home, Hannah has found one and will open next week in Marion.

"Bistro 319" is located at 796 11th Street in Marion. Thursday, August 23rd is opening day for the restaurant that's being dubbed the home of "New American cuisine". You'll be able to get burgers, steaks, sandwiches, soup and salad, as well as appetizers, a full bar and even a Saturday brunch. There is also access to a better patio outside.

A post on their Facebook page indicates their hours after this Thursday's opening will be as follows:

  • Monday: 5-9 p.m.
  • Tuesday - Thursday:  7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. & 5-9 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. & 5-10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m.-2 p.m. & 5-10 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed
