An adult nightclub in the small town of Harrison Michigan is embroiled in controversy over a "now hiring" sign, according to the Detroit Free Press and WNEM TV 5.

Targeted at graduating teens, the sign reads "Now hiring Class of 2016."

Local residents are mad as hell. And I don't blame them one bit!

This hits close to home for me, as I started my radio programming career in Clare County and lived in Harrison years ago. Like much of the state, this rural area in central Michigan struggles with higher-than-average unemployment. Good people living through tough times, doing what the can just to get by.

It's bad enough that the residents have to endure having this kind of sleezy business operating in their small town. It is absolutely shameful that the club owners are targeting girls just out of high school with this degrading "now hiring" sign.
