Tonight is the David Letterman finale, and everyone is chiming in with their sentiments.  Some are even saying "now what?"  Maybe it's my age.  Maybe it's what I was raised on.  But I'm not too worried, as I've never been a fan. I know this may be a shock. It may not sit well with some. It's just I've never quite gotten his humor. I was also raised on Johnny Carson, then Jay.  And Paul Schafer drives me nuts.  There's some people that just need their microphones shut off, and Paul has always been one.  I get the Top 10 list, but it's so completely hit or miss.  Take Jimmy Fallon for example.  Almost every night he has some part of his show that goes viral.  Dave's lists stopped becoming viral years ago.  I don't mean to be hating on the legend, as he is just that: A LEGEND.  He's opened the doors for so many comedians. And in that, I'm okay with him leaving.  He's done well, but the next wave... I'm indecisive.

When Conan came into the scene, I was worried.  I didn't get him either.  But look at the funny men now leading the charge: Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert soon, even James Corden.  There's so much talent in these guys, there's a hilarious future of late night ahead.  The hard part will be choosing which one.  I already have a difficult enough time choosing between the 2 Jimmys.  Now add Stephen... not sure where I'll end up, but know that it'll be funny, and I'll be entertained.

Thanks Dave for what you've done for Late Night TV all these years. While I've never been a big fan, you've been a gift to many. Best wishes.
