[UPDATED WITH Arrest] One Killed in Saturday Night Shooting in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids Police report a man was killed in a Saturday evening shooting in the northeast part of the city. They're seeking a person of interest.
Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1100 block of Maplewood Drive N.E. Saturday night at 9:42, where two people had been shot. Cedar Rapids Police report 21-year old (DOB 6-22-94) Brandon Johnson of Cedar Rapids died at the scene. The second victim, a 16-year old male, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
According to a press release from Cedar Rapids Police this afternoon, they believe last night's events are tied to a "long-standing dispute between two families and their associates."
[UPDATED Sunday (3/20) evening]: Kenyauta Keith (DOB 3-8-2000) was arrested at the Cedar Rapids Police Department at approximately 6 Sunday (3/20) evening. He has been charged with First Degree Murder in the death of Brandon Johnson and Attempted Murder, involving the 16-year old male. Cedar Rapids Police had been seeking Keith (photo below) as a person of interest earlier in the day.

This is the second shooting death in Cedar Rapids this weekend. 15-year old Senquez Jackson was shot Friday afternoon and was pronounced dead late yesterday afternoon. The investigation into that shooting is also ongoing.
