Meet Paris, the newest member of the Carson household. So the other weekend, the kids decided to use the "give" money out of their give, save, spend box to Last Hope Animal Rescue.  Completely their decision, not my wife and mine. I honestly knew what the outcome would be.

We get there and the kids are asked if they wanted to see the kitties. That's when I knew we were in for it.  There were four or five kitties in the room.  One was in a cage apart from the others. One was very nervous around the kiddos.  One was completely adorable, but didn't really come down from his post.  The other two came right up to the kids and wanted to play and cuddle.  Eventually, one of them walked away. But this cute little black and white kitty just couldn't be more affectionate. She purred the whole time, chased her string, rubbed up against you every chance she got, and was a complete sweetheart.

When it was time to go, they couldn't stop talking about her. Again, I knew the moment we stepped in the door this was likely to happen.  A couple days later we fill out the application.  I was very impressed by the background check and entire process to make sure these animals end up in forever homes.  Well today was the day, and she has come to our home.  Our current cat, Sophie, is a bit taken aback of course, but we know they'll be buddies in no time, as they're both lovebugs.

I'm nervous though, because my daughter would like to volunteer once she turns 10, in a few months.  Not sure how many "trips through the doors" we can handle.

BTW, the name Paris is 100% for the city, and not the "celebrity". Eech.
