The Linn County Sherrif's Department reports that a suspect is in custody following an overnight stabbing in rural Linn County.

A stabbing at the Ced-Rel Motel (Highway 30 west of Cedar Rapids) was reported to the Linn County Sherrif's Department at 12:24 this morning. The Iowa State Patrol, Atkins Fire Department, and Area Ambulance Service all also responded to the scene.

An adult male was found on the floor in room #21 at the motel. He had sustained multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, where he later died from his injuries. He's been identified as 23-year-old Jimmi-Jon Lee Lint from Mount Auburn, Iowa.

A suspect who was staying at the motel in room #14 was arrested by the Iowa State Patrol and Linn County Sherrif's Department. He's identified as 47-year-old Michael Stephen Lehman. He was treated for minor injuries at Unity Point/St. Luke’s Hospital, and was then taken to the Linn County Correctional Center. His booking photo is below. Lehman is being held on the charge of Murder in the 1st Degree. His initial court appearance will take place at 10:30 this morning. .
