'Tis the season for giving...and forgiving. Park Cedar Rapids is bringing back its "Forgive The Fine" citation forgiveness event. Now through Dec. 21, Park Cedar Rapids will dismiss fines and citations of up to $100 in exchange for donations of supplies of an equivalent value.

You may drop off donations at the Park CR office, 349 Fourth Ave. SE, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All items will be donated by Park Cedar Rapids to Waypoint Services and the Willis Dady Emergency Shelter.

A list of accepted items and the equivalent citation forgiveness amount are as folliows:

$10 fine: Fines of this amount will be dismissed in exchange for such items as 6-packs of toilet paper and 2-packs of paper towels; hats and gloves; small blankets; 20 oz. deodorant, and 12 oz. shampoo and conditioner. Also accepted will be at least two unopened bottles of Tylenol; 28 oz. containers of body wash, 25 oz. bottles of dish soap, and 75 count disinfecting wipes.

$15 fine: Fines in the amount of $15 will be waived for donations of bed sheet sets, brooms, air fresheners and baby clothes, paper towels and facial tissues, detergent, Pine-Sol, washcloths and socks. Lotion and hand warmers are also accepted.

$25 fine: Grocery store gift cards of $20 or more, along with baby bottles and 12 oz. formula; large pillows/blankets, and diaper bags will all be accepted in exchange for waiving a $25 fine.

$100 fine: Finally, to have your $100 fine dismissed, you may donate any of the following items: Grocery store gift cards of $90 or more, bedding sets of any size, baby strollers, pots/pans sets, and at least two 31-day city bus passes.
