This past weekend, comedian and Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson posted an alarming note on Instagram on Saturday (December 15) that many saw as a sign he might potentially harm himself. This came shortly after Pete applauded Kanye West for defending himself and speaking out about mental health, which Pete has publicly struggled with before.

It was widely reported Saturday that Ariana Grande, Davidson's ex, rushed to NBC in New York, where SNL tapes, to be there fore Pete. Grande publicly tweeted at one point Saturday afternoon, "I'm downstairs and I'm not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything."

Now TMZ is reporting that Davidson, who was at the NBC studios for SNL rehearsal, refused to see Ariana. A source tells TMZ that Pete had security meet Ariana down in the lobby and block her from heading up to the SNL studio, so he wouldn't have to see her.

Pete reportedly knew Ariana was on her way to NBC because mutual friends called to give him the heads up after Ariana had called them, worried about Pete's safety.

We're not sure if Ariana and Pete ever saw each other, but we were thankful to see Pete pop up briefly during SNL on Saturday night to introduce Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson's performance. The comedian has deleted his Instagram account since posting the distressing message.

This isn't Pete's first time being public about his struggles with mental health and suicidal thoughts. Most recently, Pete took on bullies, both online and in real life, after revealing life had not been easy for him after the very public breakup with Ariana. In that note, also posted to Instagram, Davidson wrote, ""I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won't."
