104.5 KDAT is pleased to announce we are again partnering this year with Playtime Poppy Children's Theatre!

"Captain Spoon, The Forgetful Pirate" opens the new season, next weekend at Jefferson High School.

Captain Spoon is one of the greatest pirates to ever sail the seven seas, but he has a small problem. He is forgetful. In fact, he has forgotten where he left his boat, where his crew has gone, and where he buried his treasure. The good news is that he has a map, a determination never to give up, and you, the audience, to help him every step of the way. Join Captain Spoon as his map leads him to pouty parrots, surf-shredding sharks, a tap-dancing octopus, and grand adventure.

The script was written by Jefferson drama teacher Joe Link for Brucemore Outdoor Children's Theatre and premiered in 2007.  The local connection continues as Kristen Richardson-Wilcox and Brian Smith of the Playtime Poppy staff and board of directors were part of that 2007 production, as were Cedar Rapids Washington drama director Carrie Tinkham and Jefferson theatre director Bryan Schlotfelt.
Please support fun, family-friendly and LOCALLY produced entertainment by taking in one the following presentations of "Captain Spoon, The Forgetful Pirate" at Jefferson, and stay with KDAT for your chance to win tickets. Shows are only $5 for admission per person, and those with an asterisk are sign-language interpreted.
