Last week, it was reported that Jersey's Downtown Cedar Rapids location was closing. "Staff safety" was disclosed as the issue, with the finger being pointed at a chicken restaurant with whom they share a building.

The specific nature of those issues is still unknown, but Jersey's is still closed and, as KCRG has reported in the past few days, the Cedar Rapids Police Department has had their say in the matter. CRPD says they have declared both Jersey's and Harold's Chicken "nuisance properties" due to the volume of calls received by both.

We do now know, thanks to KCRG's reporting, that the two share a kitchen space. That does seem kind of problematic. However, a Google search of Harold's Chicken also implies that the Cedar Rapids location of that restaurant is "permanently closed".

Hopefully, all parties can resolve their disputes and get back to business in downtown again soon.
