We told you back in May that female human remains had been found in rural Mason City on May 20. Now, we know those remains belong to a former Arkansas police officer who'd been missing for 10 years.

According to KFSM, police have confirmed the remains belong to Cerilla Doyle of Bentonville, Arkansas. Doyle, who sometimes went by Cerilla Ann Bolton, was a retired Pea Ridge Police Officer. According to a Police Department Facebook post below, Doyle had worked for the department from 1995 to 2008, when she retired.

Doyle had been missing since October 27, 2008 when her daughter came home from work and couldn't locate her. Cerilla left everything inside her home... ID, personal property, vehicle, cell phone... it was all there.

The following day, Doyle was seen buying a bus ticket. It was believed she took the bus to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was never seen again before her remains were found in rural Mason City this spring. Authorities say they have no idea how she ended up in central Iowa.
