You spoke, they listened.

The Freedom Festival Balloon Glow was cancelled in June due to wet grounds and other weather concerns at Brucemore. It appeared it wouldn't be made up on a rain date this year, either. By popular demand, they've made it happen and the event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 7.

One other important change: it will be moving from Brucemore to a new location for this rescheduled date. Sinclair Levy-Bo Town Entertainment Park at 1430 2nd St. SE in downtown Cedar Rapids is the address. Gates will open at 5 p.m., and the event will take place from 6-9:30.

Fans hoping to attend should save their Freedom Festival button until Tuesday, August 7 for free admission. They are available at Hy-Vee or Casey's stores.

The same simple rules will apply as when the event is held at Brucemore: no pets or personal fireworks and no smoking, bring your own blankets and chairs. There will be live entertainment from Arch Allies. This is a popular tribute band who performs music from the likes of Journey, Bon Jovi and REO Speedwagon, to name a few. Local vendors, including Cedar Ridge Winery, will be on-site with great food and drinks.

It's going to be a great night and we're glad to see the event could be rescheduled. For more information, visit the Freedom Festival Balloon Glow webpage.

Let's hope Mother Nature cooperates this time!
