Popular Restaurant Chain Finally Opening Iowa Location Tuesday

They have locations in 28 states and the District of Columbia, and it's finally Iowa's turn!

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is scheduled to open a location in Ames Tuesday, April 26. While it's the first in Iowa, there could be others. KCCI reports owner Paul Goldammer is behind expansion plans in Iowa.

The very first Potbelly Sandwich Shop opened in Chicago in the late 70's and Illinois and Texas are now flooded with them and there are more than 300 locations around the U.S.

I think Westdale would be a fantastic location for the first eastern Iowa Potbelly, don't you? Plenty of new storefronts are going up and the live music Potbelly's features would be a terrific addition to that area, not to mention a restaurant totally new to eastern Iowa. In the meantime, you'll have to travel to Ames if you want to check it out. Here's their menu.
