Rihanna took time out of a recent concert to encourage her fans to vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

During a recent tour stop, the "Work" singer addressed the crowd, asking how many of her fans were registered to vote.

"I can’t vote, so ya’ll gotta do that for me. How many of ya’ll registered to vote?" she asked, eliciting a noisy reaction from the crowd. "Are you actually registered to vote though, or are you just turning up now?"

She continued, telling the crowd technology has made voter's registration so easy, there's no viable excuse not to do it, especially if you have a cell phone.

"All right, well, if you have a cell phone in your hand you don’t really have an excuse not to be registered," she continued. "It’s crazy numbers right now — over 70 million Americans are not registered to vote and it saddens me because young people are the future."

"So I want ya'll to make sure that whatever happens here...The power is in your hands — literally right in your cell phone," Rihanna said, clearly adamant about leaving a lasting impression about the importance of voting.

"All right I’m getting a little too deep," she finished. "Hillary didn’t pay me to say that, I promise."
