A Man Truly Forever Young [GALLERY]

For one night only, Cedar Rapids was witness to a legend, one who has remained a timeless treasure for all music lovers.  That man is Rod Stewart, and last Friday's show was nothing short of amazing! There's no denying that this had to be one of the biggest concerts ever to come to Cedar Rapids in recent years.  Yes, there have been some large country shows in recent years, and no matter how popular those artists are or have been, none are quite up to the Rod Stewart legendary status.  And what does it take for a legend to put on a show, quite a few semis (if you happened to look behind the US Cellular Center Friday).

Friday was a very busy night in the Cedar Rapids area as well, but that didn't stop fans from pouring into the venue, packing it to near sold out status.  And Rod Stewart delivered.  If you thought time may have taken its toll on the singer, you'd be very wrong.  He's still very much in shape, and can still easily hold his own, as he did Friday, belting out hit after hit, with the crowd loving every minute of it, right on through the "Sexy" finale.  Check out these photos and relive the amazing night.

On a side note, in speaking with some of the management who books concerts at the U.S. Cellular Center, the success of this show may just be a gate opening for many more much larger shows to finally come to Cedar Rapids, other than marquee country stars. Lets just say "fingers crossed".
