“Say Something” Breakdown

"Say Something" by Great Big World/Christina Aguilera is a powerful song. It drives home some emotion, doesn't it? Even makes little kids get weepy.

Who can blame that toddler for breaking down while listening to this song. Originally recorded in 2011, Aguilera loved this track so much, she contacted the group to see if she could lend a hand with the harmonies. I like the part where they pause briefly at "Swallow my.........pride." Powerful stuff.

Great Big World is a duo from New York who met while studying music at NYU. Singer Ian Axel reminds me of the dude from the MTV-era launching group The Buggles.

He has a chart-topper. Teary-eyed kids across the globe can attest to that fact.
