Mother Nature is picking favorite days again. The eastern half of the Hawkeye State has seen it's fair share of severe weather on Sundays this spring. We had another round

rumble through yesterday. Most of those storm cells were in SE Iowa, but the corridor had a few thunderstorms. Enough to disrupt Mother's Day outdoor gatherings.

This string of Sundays reminds me of the Flood of '93. That summer it was like clockwork. Sunday = Severe. That's how consistent the pattern was. I worked on a news/talk station that summer. Our on-call rotation had lots of activity. The Flood of '08 really didn't have heavier storm days specifically. The rain just kept coming...day after day.

Looks like this week is shaping up to be cool and wet. Some flood watches are posted with high temps dropping to around 60 and below the rest of the week. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has just been posted for our area until 8p tonight. Stay with KDAT at CBS2 for the latest.

Here's to a bright, sunny Sunday May 18!
