A town in Iowa is giving away free land.

There's only one catch: anyone taking advantage of this offer is required to build a home on that land.

The town is Marne, Iowa, located a few miles south of I-80, about 75 miles west of Des Moines.

This is the kind of thing that used to happen long ago when the wild, wild west was won.

Back then, it was called a "LAND GRAB" and that's just what it was. Folks could literally grab free land just for settling into a community that wished to grow.

Marne's official website has maps, application forms and more information on the free land grab going on now.

Just how small is Marne, IA? Let's say it's cozy. It has a bar and grill, and a church or two. The town's post office is cozy too:

And this town knows how to party! Marne has a Chili Cookoff in January, an Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July Fireworks, Fall Hayride & Wienie Roast and a Motorcycle Rally weekend too.

Who knows? It may just be the perfect place for you to call "home".
