'Star Wars: Episode 7' is scheduled to begin filming in May (just about two-and-a-half months from now), so you'd think casting announcements are imminent. So far, we've heard precious little information about who will actually be starring in the new 'Star Wars' films (aside from Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and others from the original trilogy), but is that about to change? The latest rumor has it that the star of one of this year's biggest movies - 'Transformers 4' - will be the star of one of next year's biggest movies, 'Star Wars: Episode 7'.

Before you freak out, no, Mark Wahlberg isn't going to be a Jedi. That's Jack Reynor above, the little-known Irish actor director Michael Bay plucked from obscurity to star in 'Transformers 4' as his new star, once Shia LaBeouf decided he wasn't famous anymore. Is Reynor, in all his blond-haired/blue-eyed glory, the new era of Skywalker?

Harry Knowles from Ain't It Cool, a one-time force (pun intended) on the 'Star Wars' rumor mill, is reporting he's heard from multiple sources that Reynor has been cast in 'Star Wars: Episode 7' in an undisclosed role.

It's not hard to speculate on what role Reynor could be playing in a 'Star Wars' movie. The rumors have long been that 'Star Wars: Episode 7' will introduce the children of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo and Reynor certainly fits the Skywalker mold. The 22-year-old could play a supporting role in 'Episode 7,' while taking a larger role in subsequent films.

While Reynor is largely unknown in the U.S., that's about to change this summer with a starring role in 'Transformers 4.' And, while that film has raised his profile, it is possible that the contract he signed for the 'Transformers' films (where they like to keep churning them out quickly), could keep him from participating in J.J. Abrams' 'Star Wars' movies.

Other actors rumored for roles in 'Star Wars: Episode 7' include Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemons, Gary Oldman and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Whether any of those names will still be attached once casting is confirmed and announced remains to be seen.
