I hope you all enjoyed the Super Bowl--and the commercials. To me, they left a lot to be desired, as has been the case in recent years.

The fact that the commercials are "leaked" a week or more ahead of time on the internet now doesn't help. This year's selections in particular seemed light on creativity and heavy on celebrity casting and special-effects-heavy movie trailers. That's too much of a cop out and advertisers need to go back to the drawing board on innovation and creativity.

Everyone's loving the Bud Light "political campaign" parody commercial with Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Amy Schumer. I wasn't a fan. Weren't we all a little oversaturated with political ads just a couple of weeks ago? I know it's a spoof of those ads, but it's a product that doesn't require that much "stunt" casting, in my opinion. I also missed the memorable Clydesdale ads of the past.

What do I consider a good Super Bowl ad? One of my favorites of all-time was the series of commercials featuring the "talking" baby, and later, his friends for E-Trade. Obviously, the original baby has probably grown up too much to star in that commercial now, but this is an example of what advertisers need to go back to.

As far ads I enjoyed this year, the Doritos "ultrasound" commercial was funny and I liked Steven Tyler in the Skittles commercial.

What are your thoughts on the Super Bowl commercials this year?
