It was reported earlier today that Jimi Jamison, front man of rock groups "Survivor" and "Cobra" passed away Sunday night from a heart attack.  He was 63. While he was not with the band until after "Eye of the Tiger", he was still responsible for many of their hits, including "The Search is Over", "Is This Love", "Burning Love", and "Moment of Truth." He also was the voice behind the "Baywatch" theme song. He started his career providing backing vocal to ZZ Top and Joe Walsh among others.

According to TMZ, he had just performed with the band Saturday night.  Local booking agent Jeff Johnson worked with him on numerous occasions, including 2010's Freedom Fest, took to Facebook to share his positive experiences.

I had booked him 4 times and he was always nice, had a terrific voice, and sang some of the great ballads of the 80's. Last time I saw him was at the Isle in Waterloo, IA and Survivor was great with him back as lead singer!...just was reminded when he and Peter Cetera were booked at the Freedom Festival and it got rained out - Jimi did a show for 150 people in the gym at Kirkwood with Mark Hixson's equipment. He also begged Peter to come out and make an appearance with him.  ~Jeff Johnson, USA Entertainment Agency
