Target to Close Store in Eastern Iowa

It's the holiday season and shoppers are flocking to their favorite retailer, which for many is Target.  However, one Iowa Target is enjoying it's last season as it's doors are about to shut permanently.

About a month ago, the retailer announce 13 locations will be closing, and one of them will be the store in Ottumwa. Target says the decision was simply based on that store's performance, and is not any reflection of the company as a whole. (Big sigh of relief).

So for now, enjoy your shopping trips as all area locations around Cedar Rapids and Waterloo will remain open well into the future.  The Ottumwa location is slated to close January 30th.  You can see a full list of all 13 locations that will be closing here.
