Bailey escaped during a robbery, got hit by a car, was rescued, and finally reunited with her tearful owner. Cedar Falls resident James Young was traveling on Highway 218 when he saw a small dog coming toward him in the roadway. Just as he pulled over, another vehicle hit the small Axel Terrier. He grabbed her and took the dog to a safe place and called for help. The rest of the story is just as amazing as the rescue of the dog named Bailey. Bailey had actually escaped five days prior to being hit when thieves broke into the home of her owner, Shannon Olsson. She was able to get out the back door that day. Where she was for those five days is anyone's guess but Olsson is thrilled to have her back. He told KWWL her return is, "... a Christmas miracle I think, she's probably the best Christmas present we could ever have back."
