The Freedom Fest Medallion Hunt Has Begun, And We’ve Got Your Clues
The 3rd Annual Freedom Festival Medallion Hunt just kicked off Monday, and already there's plenty of eager Cedar Rapidians searching high, low, everywhere to find it, seeking their chance at the $500 Hy-Vee giftcard, and the big reveal of the new 2015 Freedom Fest logo. Here's the clues you need.
In case you're new to the Medallion Hunt, here's how it works. Somewhere within the Cedar Rapids Metro area, on public land, there is a 4" disc with the unreleased 2015 Freedom Fest logo on it. Over the course of 10 days, we give you 10 clues to help you on your search. Whoever finds it and brings it to the Freedom Festival office will win a $500 HyVee giftcard, and get to see the logo first.
As the hunt ends, the full Freedom Festival schedule will be revealed, which we know already kicks off with the Insane Inflatable 5k presented by GoDaddy and ends with the Thomas Dostal Developers Freedom Festival Concert on the 4th. We're excited for the annual festival, so let's get to those clues. Let's see if you can crack the code. It's pretty tough.
- 1
Clue #1
Our Medallion hunt will take you places,
Low and high to all kinds of spaces.
As we start it's important to know,
You'll have to choose between high and low. - 2
Clue #2
We need to say
To help your quest
The disk is dressed
In a proper vest. - 3
Clue #3
A rainy day can be a test.
Your spirits can sure be all wet.
The medallion doesn't care.
That's a sound bet. - 4
Clue #4
Nests are great
When they host a bird
And grass a help
When the bird is the word. - 5
Clue #5
The 1800s were fine for many.
A clue exists with that era in mind.
Now do what you do.
To make a find. - 6
Clue #6
There's a lot to be said for the end of things
Be they dead, or simply done
Figure out how this matters
And you'll have more fun. - 7
Clue #7
Flat things may be easy
Nearby you can get real queasy
The county-wide has several of these
Thrill seekers will be pleased. - 8
Clue #8
Seek out a moment in time
Nearby a place to park you car
Trees and rocks all around
But thinking differently is really sound. - 9
Clue #9
We take for granted
This certain source
It powers our day
As it runs its course
Dig a little deeper
And see clue number four. - 10
Clue #10 - Final Clue
Let's review as we end our quest
And throw in clues that help you best
Sledding is a thrilling time
In a park where you need a sign
Electricity sure comes in handy
When keeping dry is more than dandy
On a street with a past century label
Whose end is dead, and near a table
History is set in stone nearby
Kind of forgotten, we don't know why
The prize is in a Native-named park
With hills and a shelter that set it apart.
