Approximately 120 classic cars made a stop in Cedar Rapids Saturday night, the final overnight of a 2,400-mile race stretching from California to Illinois.

'The Great Race' started in San Rafael, California on June 18 and will conclude Sunday in Moline, Illinois. Saturday's drive took them from an overnight stay in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to a lunch stop in Mason City and finally into Cedar Rapids. A long, hot day in vehicles all built in or before 1972. They all arrived in Cedar Rapids between 5:35 and around 7:20 p.m. A big crowd was there to greet them on the 3rd Avenue Bridge, for their final night on the road:
