It's not just Cedar Rapids and Marion that have the live music market cornered in the corridor this summer. Iowa City has a concert series you might not want to miss starting tonight.

A mix of live and local music acts take the stage for "Iowa City Unplugged". The event will be set up at the pop-up on College Street, by Clinton Street. It opens tonight, August 2, at 7 p.m. wth Seth Cook, a midwest native of Indiana now based in Nashville, and Iowa City act, "Dashi Project".

If you can't make it tonight, don't worry, "Iowa City Unplugged" runs for a full two months into early fall. Next week, "Two Bit Maniac" will perform. The rest of the schedule is as follows:

  • Aug, 9; Two-Bit Maniac
  • Aug. 16: Muckrockers
  • Aug. 22: Danika Portz (Wednesday show to coincide with Taste of Iowa City)
  • Aug. 30: Tanya English Trio
  • Sept. 6: Jordan Canzeri w/Iowa Agni and other artists
  • Sept. 13: The SunDogs
  • Sept. 20: Boot Jack Duo

September 27 will be an open date, listed as a "surprise artist". A wide array of musical acts look to line the concert stage this summer with "Iowa City Unplugged". Enjoy!
