This is sure to be a classic at Thanksgiving. The Peanuts movie comes out in November. My kids and I just watched this trailer and it looks great. The high-def "Pixarization" of the animation will take some getting used to, though.

I like that they credit Charles Schulz in the trailer. He's been gone for a decade and a half. His legacy will live on forever. The mark of a true genius who made a big splash on the national scene for a very long time.

My wife and I drove through the gorgeous countryside near Santa Rosa, CA a few years back. That's where Schulz spent his time at the drawing board. To no one's surprise, he owned a beagle. We beagle owners love that breed for their personality. Snoopy sure has one, doesn't he?

The last 60 days of the year feature some blockbuster releases. Everyone is really stoked for Star Wars VII. I'm on that bandwagon too, but this one's for the little ones. How cool is it that I can take my young children to the big screen to see characters that defined my cinematic experiences as a child.

If the makers of The Peanuts Movie can capture the brilliance of Schulz' writing, we're in for a treat. The animation looks spot-on...even though we're not used to those modern graphics in Peanuts productions. Maybe someday Bruce will roll this out at one of our Free Kids Summer Movies at Collins Road Theaters. It'll go nicely with that real butter on the popcorn.
