In short, this past weekend might have been the worst of the year. It's one I had feared for a long time. Thankfully, it wasn't because anyone was sick. And nothing ended up broken or costing me a major chunk of money. But it was bad. And it all started when I came home Friday to the worst news...it was finally time to put Christmas away.  NOOOOOOO!!!

Like many, I love the holidays.  We can't wait to go through the labor of pulling out all the boxes, and finding a place for the many, many little trinkets.  We get excited to set up the tree, and place each ornament in just it's proper spot. But the reverse?  YIKES!  I dread figuring out how to package all these items back up.  And then there's the issue with all the tree needles that have fallen off (fake or real).  But the worst part:  the emptiness.

For me, that's the worst part. You can pick on me all you want for being so late on this. I procrastinate for so long because once it's all put away, the house is simply so empty.  I know over the passing days, it doesn't bother you as much, as it feels normal again.  But for now, uggghhh.

So long Christmas. See ya next year.
