I hope you're planning on staying in town this weekend.  There are just too many things going on that you won't want to miss.  Seriously, have you checked our events calendar yet?  And while we'll be at many of them, we are definitely looking forward to the Annual Fire and Ice Festival.

The Fire and Ice Festival is something we always look forward to.  There's so many great events, and each year, our family tries to catch at least one event we haven't yet caught.  Last year is was the MerryTuba Christmas.  What a delightful spectacle that is!  Would never have guessed there were so many "tuba" players in our area.  While I'll miss the Westdale Mall setting of this, I look forward to how it'll fit in at the new downtown library.  The irony, a "quiet" place won't be very quiet Saturday.  But it will definitely be filled with plenty a "joyful noise".

The kids are most looking forward to the parade of course, meeting Santa at the Museum of Art  and playing in "North Pole Park" with all the fun kids activities before the parade.  It might just be the first year we actually catch the the tree lighting too.  They've been bummed the past couple years to miss North Pole Park as it seems to get cancelled from weather elements.  Thankfully, this weekend is looking perfect for all the festivities.  Also thankfully, the library has some kids activities planned too, in case we get a little chilled.

If you're not feeling in the holiday mood by the time Saturday is done, you've clearly missed something.
