Tom DeLonge -- best known as a founding member of pop punk royalty Blink 182 -- has long been an outspoken proponent of his belief in alien life forms. But he took things next level when he decided to contact Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, in an attempt to discuss their shared interest in the possibility of life on other planets.

DeLonge first emailed John Podesta — who also served as Chief of Staff to former President Bill Clinton and Counselor to President Barack Obama — back in 2015, requesting a meeting with the high-ranking official to talk UFOs, according to the latest WikiLeaks email reveal via the Wall Street Journal.

"I would like to bring two very 'important' people out to meet you in DC," DeLonge wrote. "I think you will find them very interesting, as they were principal leadership relating to our sensitive topic. Both were in charge of most fragile divisions, as it relates to Classified Science and DOD topics. Other words, these are A-Level officials. Worth our time, and as well the investment to bring all the way out to you.”

The "Aliens Exist" singer reached out to Podesta once more in January, claiming to be in direct contact with former Air Force official General McCasland, who DeLonge alleges has valuable information relating to the purported UFO crash of 1947 that took place in Roswell, New Mexico.

"He mentioned he's a 'skeptic', he's not. I've been working with him for four months. I just got done giving him a four hour presentation on the entire project a few weeks ago," DeLonge wrote. "Trust me, the advice is already been happening on how to do all this. He just has to say that out loud, but he is very, very aware -- as he was in charge of all of the stuff.

"When Roswell crashed, they shipped it to the laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base," DeLonge continued. "General McCasland was in charge of that exact laboratory up to a couple years ago. He not only knows what I'm trying to achieve, he helped assemble my advisory team. He's a very important man."

To DeLonge's credit, Podesta's had a longstanding, public interest in UFOs and possible alien life forms.

He famously tweeted about it back in 2015, after parting ways with the Obama administration -- though the tweet now appears under senior advisor Brian Deese's account -- writing, "Finally, my biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the #disclosure of the U.F.O. files. #thetruthisstilloutthere.”
