The FW recently put out a list of the reasons why Halloween is overrated, and they are definitely speaking my language. You can see their list here, but I picked out my own reasons.

    The Cost

Buying candy that isn't for you, decorations and if you decide to go out, the cost of a costume can all add up. I personally need to save those funds for the next round of holidays coming after Halloween.

    The Weather

We lucked out with the Halloween forecast this year. But when it's not so lovely, all I want to do Halloween night is sit inside and watch movies--or, as is the case this year, Monday Night Football since my Bears are playing--rather than venture out.

    Loud Noises

Extra people in the neighborhood and the constant ringing of the doorbell drive my very easy-going dog to want to bark his lungs out.

    The Shenanigans

A couple years of seeing kids who were way too old to be trick-or-treating being the only ones who showed up at my door, made me lose interest in being on the giving end of this activity any longer.  Nevermind all the other misbehavior going on. There's the TP'ing, egging, any other type of vandalism, and this year, the whole crazy clown thing--and I don't just mean the election. No thanks. The world's crazy enough as it is.
